Durational Conference

A durational conference is a format for an intense 48 hour conference for a small group of people that are required to take an active part in the discussion.

Speakers have no time limit, and talks can be as short or as long as you want. The objective is to experiment with a more freeform format in opposition to the highly stylised and time limited formats of TED Talks or Lightening Talks.

# History

I attended the second Durational Conference in Berlin in the spring of 2016, hosted by Dmytri Paranyushkin. It was a small event with perhaps a dozen people, and took place over 2 days.

I had a chance to meet up with Ward Cunningham on the first day during his stopover in Berlin, and on a rare visit to Europe.
